Challenges With My Health

Today I visited the dental surgery department
in the local hospital for a follow-up CT
(computed tomography) scan.

These past two years, I have had many challenges
with my health. One of them was a surgery to
remove my uterus.

After I gave birth to my second child,
I had a serious complication because of
placenta accrete.

In my case, the placenta was not delivered
for ten days. It became life-threatening and
my whole uterus had to be removed by
emergency surgery.

However, it was not the end of the story.
After only three months from that surgery,
this time, I got a benign tumor in my upper jaw,
which almost caused facial deformity.

I needed to have another operation under
general anesthesia. It was a fenestration
operation, so that's why even now I still
have some hollow space in my upper gum
(or upper jaw) while I am recovering.

I underwent two serious surgeries in such
a short period of time, though, now I am quite well
and do not have any problems in my daily life.

For example, I can enjoy eating my favorite
hard rice cakes, Osenbei, just like before.
Sometimes I completely forget that I underwent
such an urgent abdominal operation.

Those experiences were not welcome at that time,
but when I look back on them now, I believe that
they gave me deeper confidence in myself.

今日は、歯科口腔外科で、
フォローアップのため、CT検査を受けてきました。

この過去２年のあいだには、
けっこう大きな病気をしました。

まず、その中の一つは、
２年ほど前、息子を出産した直後のことです。

ひどい癒着胎盤から感染症になり、
生命の危機に瀕するというか……
かなりアブない状態に陥り、
その結果、緊急手術で　子宮全摘出となりました。

その手術も、かなり大変だったんですが、
それだけじゃ　ハナシは　終わりませんでした。。。

その３カ月後、こんどは　上顎に良性腫瘍ができ、
どんどん大きくなって、顔が半ば変形するくらい
腫れてきて、またまた同じ病院に戻り、歯科口腔外科で
全身麻酔で　手術をしました。

現在も、
上顎の部分には、まだ空洞になってる部分があり、
ふだんは、前歯・歯茎の上部に、パカッとはめる
義歯状の装置？みたいなのをつけています。


そんなふうに、短期間に
大きな手術を二度もしたものの
今は　元気です（＾－＾）

日常生活にも　ゼンゼン問題なく
歯に関しては、たとえば、固いおせんべいでも、
なんでも　バリバリ食べています。

またお腹の方も、
雨が降る前は　気圧の関係だかなんだかわかりませんが
ときどき　妙に　腰の裏側が　ズーンと痛むこともあるものの

傷口をみないと　自分が開腹手術をしたということも
もうその下には　何もないんだということも
トンと忘れていて、元気に飛び回ってます。


私自身の　コアな部分は、
たとえ　何があったとしても
決して　欠けることはないからです……☆
